vertical popup menu across frames

Hello !

Wow, udm4 sure gives you a lot of options !
I've gotten udm4 to work ok, but with a small lack of arrows problem.
I'm sure this problem is due to the approach I've taken, but I couldn't figure out what else to do. If anyone could suggest a better way, that would be awesome.

Here is the situation:
I have two frames, navframe at left and mainframe at right.
In navframe I have a ul, navList.
The submenus appear in mainframe very well. That's because mainframe follows the popup menu across frames demo pretty closely. (mainframe was derived from bottomframe on the demo page.)
But the navframe is only modeled weakly on topframe from the demo page.
That's because I want navList to be a vertical menu, not a simple horizontal list of links like in the demo.

The way I've done the navList in my navframe, it shows no arrows for submenus.
navframe links in css that I got from contents of vertical-relative-left.ini
http://www.udm4.com/udm-resources/ud...ative-left.ini
and this styles the navList menu nicely, udm style, like the submenus, *but*, without arrows.

I'm quite unclear how best to set up my vertical navList.
Is there an official way ?
I haven't seen any demo across frames using a vertical navbar at the left. (I would love to see one.)

Can anyone suggest a better approach ?

Please help, I've spent days on this.

Best regards,

Anton.

I'm not 100% understanding your question. Can you post a link or a screenshot of what you mean?

Thanks

Thanks for your response !
Sorry, I took a few days to respond.
This screenshot should make it clearer, I hope.

You can see that the menu in the left frame has no right arrow, although I hovered over "Demos .." to open the submenu.

This, I'm sure, is just indicative of the "interesting" way I've handled the navFrame.

Let me also clarify the points I made earlier.
I basically derived my code from
"[UDM] Demos : Popup menus, across frames"
http://www.udm4.com/demos/popup-frameset.php
which has a fairly simply styled, and horizontal, topList, unsuitable for my layout.
So, I've had to restyle the list in navFrame so it looks like a menu. But I did that just by grabbing some CSS from
http://www.udm4.com/udm-resources/ud...ative-left.ini

So, it's the way I've created the list in navFrame that I'm worried about.

I hope I've made that a bit clearer.
I can provide a live demo if necessary. :)

Still lost, but here is what I have.

http://www.phunktional.com/new/minimal-frames.zip

I am running the above straight from my filesystem, not through a webserver.

There is a ul list in the left frame and the ul list in the right frame.
The left ul list has class="udm".
The right ul list has class="udm" id="udm".
I suspect the id="udm" might be necessary in order to show arrows.
Am I right ?
If so, then I'm not sure the best action to take.

Please help, I'm really lost without you.

A new direction.

I started all over again after thinking more about the CSS generator and playing with it. I don't have arrows yet, but at least the css configuration is coming from .js files now.
I am no longer completely mystified, at least. :-)
