Default "WebKit2" API Layer Brings Split-Process Model

99BottlesOfBeerInMyF writes "Anders Carlsson and Sam Weinig over at Apple just announced WebKit2, a rework of the WebKit engine that powers Chrome and Safari. This new version of WebKit incorporates the same style of split-process model that provides stability in Chrome, but built directly into the framework so all browsers based upon WebKit will be able to gain the same level of sandboxing and stability. AppleInsider has a writeup, and the team has provided 'high level documentation' as well. Both Palm and the Epiphany team are going to be happy about this."pa href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fapple.slashdot.org%2Fsto ry%2F10%2F04%2F09%2F2123209%2FWebKit2-API-Layer-Brings-Split-Process-Model" target="_blank" title="Share on Facebook"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png"/a a href="http://twitter.com/home?status=%22WebKit2%22+API+Layer+Brings+Split-Process+Model%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2Fa1EDvw" target="_blank" title="Share on Twitter"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png"/a/ppa href="http://apple.slashdot.org/story/10/04/09/2123209/WebKit2-API-Layer-Brings-Split-Process-Model?from=rss"Read more of this story/a at Slashdot./p pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/GXra2itSAWk6J6PVi4fePxPQfiA/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/GXra2itSAWk6J6PVi4fePxPQfiA/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/GXra2itSAWk6J6PVi4fePxPQfiA/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/GXra2itSAWk6J6PVi4fePxPQfiA/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Slashdot/slashdotDevelopers/~4/Ub6kygHyunw" height="1" width="1"/
