An anonymous reader writes "Two weeks ago, The Daily WTF's Alex Papadimoulis announced Bad Code Offsets, a join venture between many big names in the software development community (including StackOverflow's Jeff Atwood and Jon Skeet and SourceGear's Eric Sink). The premise is that you can offset bad code by purchasing Bad Code Offsets (much in the same way a carbon-footprint is offset). The profits are donated to Free Software projects which work to eliminate bad code, such as the Apache Foundation and FreeBSD. The first cheques were sent out earlier today." Hopefully, they work better than carbon offsets, actually.pa href="http://developers.slashdot.org/story/09/12/03/1926229/Offset-Bad-Code-With-Bad-Code-Offsets?from=rss"img src="http://developers.slashdot.org/slashdot-it.pl?from=rssamp;op=imageamp;style=h0amp;sid=09/12/03/1926229"/a/ppa href="http://developers.slashdot.org/story/09/12/03/1926229/Offset-Bad-Code-With-Bad-Code-Offsets?from=rss"Read more of this story/a at Slashdot./ppa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/x6XtGIBLzBZhVPXUeqUoxpQEgIc/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/x6XtGIBLzBZhVPXUeqUoxpQEgIc/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/x6XtGIBLzBZhVPXUeqUoxpQEgIc/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/x6XtGIBLzBZhVPXUeqUoxpQEgIc/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Slashdot/slashdotDevelopers/~4/cM9r-5Xqu0g" height="1" width="1"/
