In the customizing portion of the menu (
http://www.udm4.com/manual/quickstar...t-qcustomising), you will see that there is a file called udm-custom.js for the javascript version. The filename is the same, with a different file extension for the PHP and ASP versions. That is where you'll find the places you need to change the default colors and arrows. It is well commented, so you should be able to find the elements that you want to customize.
